"Two Peas in a Pod" Baby Shower!

Two Peas in a Pod!

A few weeks ago my mom and sisters threw us our baby shower! (March 13th - 26 weeks along) We had a great time! My mom went all out (as usual) on the party. There were delicious foods prepared by my mom and her sisters and friends, fun games organized by Samantha and her friends and of course a creative theme --Two Peas in a Pod! -- completely fitting for St. Patricks Day and our nursery color of green. :) We were able to visit with family, neighbors and old friends. We even got to see family from Massachusetts who came down for the party! (Thanks Aunt Carlene & Ashley!)

See my sister Brianna, Aunt Carlene & Ashley looking pretty...

Here is my mom with her friends (from the left... Karla, Mrs. Shuey, mom, and Clare!)

My Godparents (Uncle Carl & Aunt Karen) with my mom's cousin (Kathleen)...

Even Maggie was allowed to stay for the party. Here she is in her little dress probably staining my mom's dining room carpet.

We made out like bandits..... people were super generous and thoughtful with their gifts. Thanks so much to everyone! I didn't even understand this immediately but my mom's sisters and katie got us our twin stroller which we are SUPER excited about!! (See below... as a creative way to present the gift without the physical stroller present, my Aunt Marion put two little bears in a play stroller! I love it! Thanks guys!)

Here is my Aunt Marion (on the left), standing next to cousin Jacqueline (our amazing photographer who took hundreds of pictures!!) and Aunt Regina.

My Uncle Carl, Aunt Regina, me and Regina (my mother in law - she traveled all the way from Texas for the shower)! Thanks Regina!

And of course... the bear cakes.... for the first time ever family style! My mom has been making that big bear cake for years (ever since i was little) at birthdays, christenings, graduations, showers, you wouldn't believe how many ways she has decorated him up. But recently my mother found little bear cake pans and so you can see the adorable mamma bear and two baby bear cubs below.

And what's a good party with out a crasher? My uncle shawn shown below with all the ladies must crash baby showers often... he won the "guess how many inches around Nichole's belly is game" or perhaps there is some other reason he is good at estimating waist sizes... hmm

Though it was only a short visit, we had a great time and are so thankful for all of our family members and friends! We are sad we will miss Samantha's confirmation in a few weeks (since we can't travel) but we look forward to bringing the babies back to the Philly area to meet everyone as soon as we can!
