A few weeks ago, we met some friends at Soergels Farm for their fall festival. There was so much to do!
Tiny Town
The boys (of course) ran to the tiny wooden train first. Hmm this could be fun.
Starting to feel bold... the climbing begins.
Exploring tiny spaces...
Two story tiny houses to play in.
And a tiny doctors house.
And a tiny general store!! Tiny town is a hit!
(Something on my boot)
And then... The REAL train ride!!!
Gabriel is wearing the first brown cap, then their friend Ulrich, then David is the last brown cap. The train ride was a huge hit.
Then we did the corn maze. It was a small (but tall) corn maze for younger kids. There were no options for getting lost... just a long walk through a narrow corn maze. The boys were loving it and i was feeling like this was perfect for such young kids. No where to get lost! But those little tiny kids are really good at ducking and weaving around people! (And doesn't this always happen... just when i am feeling like the situation is totally under control ...) And before we knew it, Gabriel was ahead of us and the people in front and we couldn't slow him down. Thankfully, he stopped running when he got to the end of the maze and waited for us. Phew! Thank you Guardian Angel!!
Cheesier fall activities followed... the bouncy castle and the inflatable pumpkin filled with balloons (see Gabriel enthralled...)
Then we visited the pumpkin patch.
Many pumpkins were handled.
All were left behind.
They were too big. What is the fun of picking a pumpkin from a field if it is too big to claim as your prize?? We decided to get some smaller ones at the market below.
It was a cold and wet day but we still had a lot of fun. Before we left, we watched a man making "apple juice" with some big machines. We climbed on many other wooden toys... a tracker, a fire truck... and Gabriel even fell off a pirate ship. We pet some animals, thoroughly washed our hands and the boys got hot dogs. I even got splurged on a large hot cider. Mmmm!
The boys fell asleep on the way home and transferred to their beds. It was a wonderful muddy adventure. :)
Wish we could do that together! :( love the boys hats!
ReplyDeleteTheir hats are soo cute! Love the story of Gabriel running away. Paul is a runner too, I don't know how many times I've almost lost him. And yes, I definitely believe angels are protecting them!
