Christus Resurrexit!

We wish you a blessed Easter!!

This was our first Easter in South Carolina and we were blessed to find several excellent parishes here to choose from for Mass.  We decided on Prince of Peace.  Their liturgies are the most beautiful I have ever encountered.  You can see the flowers and candles on the Alter and High Alter behind us.    The community seems very friendly too.  We are waiting until Peter's dental office location is finalized before joining a parish but this one is in the top two.

They were very excited to get home to see their Easter treats.

David looks SO old in this picture!

The Easter Egg hunt was a bit tedious... they were more interested in the candy in their baskets.

Yes, that is a giant spray bottle... industrial size so Mama doesn't have to get out of my beach chair to refill every 5 min.  Sunglasses were a big hit... as you know David is anti-sun shine. And yes... that is Thomas underwear...ooohhh!

Peeps were not a hit but all the other candy was... as you can see it was going quick.  They found David's basket and couldn't be motivated to find any eggs or Gabriel's basket until they put a dent in his candy.  I may have helped with that dent.... :)

Not in the pictures above... the boys each got a crucifix for their room.  I am very excited to get them blessed and hung up!
Later, they found a surprise in the garage.

Gabriel sliding out of the ball, show off!

3, yep boo boo

The boys enjoyed eating their dyed eggs this morning.  They peeled and ate many eggs all by themselves.  Gabriel had at least 4... we may be having a growth spurt.  In case you don't know how to peel an egg, the boys method is ...

1. Smash the shell to bits OVER and OVER again
2. Take each tiny shell piece off one at a time
3. Eat around the yellow yoke
4. Smash yellow yoke if you can before Dad takes it away.

We had bacon and monkey bread with the eggs.  The boys decided they really liked monkey bread.  Peter and I decided that we should have kept the monkey bread to ourselves.  So learning from our  mistake... the boys did not get any of our Easter steak for dinner... they got hot dogs :)

For dessert we had Lemon cake... so good!  It is so amazing to feast feast feast after you have been fasting all lent long.  I have been dreaming of sour patch kids for days... and so enjoyed them today!  The Easter bunny brought Peter some Blue Bell ice cream.  He plans to dive into it as soon as the boys are in bed.

Random video from today... they are playing with their animal punch balloons.  Gabriel is making elephant noises and David has a crocodile.

We love you all and miss you!!  Please pray we find some good friends soon.  Enjoy the rest of the Easter Octave!!

  1. Great post, I loved all of the pictures! The boys are so handsome in their suits, they look like little grown men! And you must tell me where you got that huge ball!

    1. Haha thanks... ball is from Costco. They have it on amazon ($100, yikes!) but for way more than we paid at Costco. The reviews are not great... it can pop pretty easily so we did not want to pay that much. It was rainy here on Easter so we didn't want them to take it outside and it is so huge it doesn't fit through door ways SO we had to let them keep it in the garage for now. The ball is great for now though... we want to try it outside later tonight.
