Ant busters, vampire sunglasses and tit for tat kisses
Ant Story
Gabriel burst in the room crying and crying. When I finally calmed him enough to learn why he was crying he said "David didn't let ME squish the ant, he squished them ALL". What would super nanny do in this situation? Called David in and explained he needed to share the ant-squishing-fun?
Shh its a secret.
Telling this story may actually be a breach of confidence since David has decided it is a secret. Nana and I tried and tried to get him to tell Peter his silly story, but he refused on grounds that it is a secret and "we never tell secrets" ... I am not sure if he is actually embarrassed by this or has just finally learned how to keep secrets. The story goes... David is still a vampire and requires sunglasses whenever outside if it is at all bright/sunny. Nana had the boys in the car ready to go to the park when David asked in a panic "where are my sunglasses?" It turned out they were right on his face. :) They all had a big laugh.
Great Eater
We have been generally blessed with two good eaters. In the last month though David has become difficult at dinner and often skips dinner. We almost never make them anything special and we are pretty strict about no dinner... then no dessert or other food. To make up for missing dinner, David eats like a starved hyena at breakfast and lunch. Gabriel however, really eats great. Spinach is his latest favorite food. He just downs it... cooked with a little salt and pepper and topped with Parmesan.
David kiss for kiss
Before bedtime kisses for David have become very regulated of late. He likes mouth kisses but not to be kissed at the same time. He gives you a kiss on the lips and then you give him a kiss on the lips... simultaneous puckering and contact is not allowed. He will literally yell at you "NO, I have to kiss you!" until you make a normal face and let him kiss you. This is funny just because it is so random but it is also funny because it just feels so wrong to make yourself have limp face for a kiss... mean or something!
Logical reasoning
Both boys have been surprising us lately with how organized their thoughts can be and how they can build a case for something or come to a point. This is a lame example because I forget the details but David didn't want to go somewhere with Peter and Gabriel. I told him he was going to go. So then he said "But you can't go." "You can't go because you have a baby in your tummy." (all true, remember the bedrest thing) "Daddy said it is my job to take care of you, so I have to stay here." (Peter tells the boys this when he leaves for work... that they have to take care of me) So it is a good valid argument, presented for Davids own intentions, haha... see a little impressive.
An example for Gabriel might be:
(at the dinner table)
G: Daddy you need water
P: (being sarcastic due to boys always asking Peter for water every two seconds) Gabriel maybe you should get me some water.
G: Mommy can you get daddy some water?
Sock puppets
Nana helped the boys make sock puppets a few days ago. They turned out fantastic. The most amusing aspect was the puppets names. David named his puppet Gabriel and Gabriel named his puppet David... hahaha. Nana has also taught them a crazy puppet voice.
